Chinese Medicine—for a Variety of Tough Diseases

Chinese medicine is most effective with a wide variety of diseases including respiratory, digestive, cardiovascular, genitourinary, endocrine, neurological, musculoskeletal, gynecology problems or immune system and mental–emotional disorders. Chinese medical theories are different from traditional Western one since Chinese medicine focuses on the entire individual while Western medicine concentrates on specific medical condition. Chinese or Western medicine use different approaches to study human body and use different words to explain the physiology and pathology, but they perform the same goal—treat diseases and save lives. Chinese medical theories are based on the eastern philosophy, its mechanisms have been documented by Western research, but most of the treatments can't be explained by modern medical experts yet. For example, Western medicine can't explain that of the Chinese medical concept of Yin and Yang, but Yin and Yang do exist in the human body. With proper guidance, one can keenly feel it and experience its sensations.

Cancer and its related symptoms have been treated, for over hundreds of years, by Chinese herbal medicine. Some of Chinese medical herbs have similar chemotherapy–like functions: they inhibit cancer cell growth in the laboratory and demonstrate irrefutable clinical results. But different cancers require different herbal medicine, so there is a need for Western medical diagnosis as premises for the said herbal treatment. Another obvious advantage of Chinese medical chemotherapy is that has no side effects, though its power is weaker/slower than that of the Western medicine. Because of these reason, we give patients chemo or radiation therapy to fast– inhibit tumor; meanwhile, prescribe medical herbs or/and acupuncture for the patients to reduce the side effects that chemo and radiation caused, the herbs can also strengthen the immunity and regulate the treatment procedures. When Western chemo or radiation sessions are over, herbal "chemo" is ensued to further inhibit cancer cells and boost up immunity—in a simple purpose to improve the quality of life, and extending the patient's lifespan. Such combined methodology is called The Integrative Medicine.

The benefit from integrative medicine is to avoid misdiagnosis or delay of the treatment, to eliminate side effects of radioactive therapy, and to reinforce the quick effects of Western medicine but amend for its defects.

Here's another example: viral cold, viral pneumonia, viral hepatitis, viral warts, viral enteritis are all tough cases for Western medicine, but Chinese medicine can intercept to produce miraculous effect in boosting the immune function and kill the virus.
