Can Asthma be Cured?

Can Asthma be cured? In clinic, my patients always asked me that question. The answer is positive! We have used integrative (Western and Chinese) medicine technique and have obtained great results.

What is Chinese Medicine? Chinese medicine is a natural medicine, which includes acupuncture and medical herbs. After 25 years of clinical practice, sometimes combining Western and Chinese medicines, we find that the natural medicine has more advantages than Western medicine alone in treating chronicle diseases, especially in immune related diseases like asthma.

Asthma is a condition where the air tubes of the lungs become narrower, sometimes completely blocked due to inflammation, thus restricting normal breathing. In severe cases, that blockage can lead to suffocation or death. Asthma affects the bronchi or bronchioles (airways), not the lungs' air sacs. Narrow tubing results when the lining of the airways becomes inflamed and the muscles surrounding the airways contract. Despite these complications, bronchial asthma is a condition that is both controllable and curable.

Different stimuli can trigger asthma attack: infection, allergy and immunity problems. Viral infections in particular are a big problem for most people; bacterial infections caused by sinus disease can be a trigger for many individuals. Allergens such as house–dust mites, pet dander, molds, and cockroaches can set off attacks. And seasonal allergens and pollens are another big cause for many people.

When patients are having an asthma attack we use (1) Antivirus treatment like "Sniff & Relief", "Yinhuang Pan"; (2) Anti–bacteria treatment like Jingyinghua, Huangqin that have antibiotic–like function;(3) Anti–allergy treatment like "Sniff & Relief", Xingyi, XiXing have antihistamine function that help reduce asthma symptoms; (4) for Extend bronchi–when the tube of airways went into spasm, we'd prescribe Mahuang, Baiguo, that helped stopping the asthma; (5) Acupuncture points like Dinchuang, R22 In emergency rooms, in China, apart from giving asthma patients oxygen, we also give patients acupuncture, or inject medication through the acupuncture points which immediately cut off short breathing–faster than simply using western pills.

When asthma patients are stabilized, we treat patients to boost their anti–illness ability (strengthen immunity), to prevent asthma attack, likes (1)"Sniff & Relief", Rensen, Huangqi, Dongcongxacao and/or (2) acupuncture. Chinese medical treatment of asthma has one hundred percent positive reaction. Therefore, Chinese (natural) medicine and/or integrative medicine are strongly recommended for asthma treatment.

Lian was a 10 year–old boy, who had suffered from allergy and asthma since he had caught a cold when he was six months old. He frequently visited his doctors and was in hospital every year. After he started his Chinese medicine treatment his symptoms were gone and experienced no more asthma attacks. 5 years later, his mom called the clinic and reported that Lian just had seasonal allergies and had not one asthma attack during the period.

Connie is a 3 year–old girl who had chronic asthma attack since she was born. Her parents took her to lots of hospital and doctors, but her asthma never stopped.
